The Lion King & Jungle Festival
A new offering to the line-up of Disneyland Paris is The Lion King & Jungle Festival. During this festival your favorite characters join characters from the Lion King and the Jungle Book. Different shows are available throughout the day.
To experience the Lion King & Jungle Festival at its best, Disneyland Paris is offering the Lion King Signature Experience. You can find more details here.
The Lion King & Jungle Festival offers three shows that can be experienced multiple times a day. As show times can change, it is wise to grab a program when you enter the park. All the below offerings are available daily at the Disneyland Park.
The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands
Multiple times a day, guests can experience this new show at the newly renovated Frontierland Theater. The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands will take guests along with Simba, Nala, Rafiki, Mufasa, Scar, Timon and Pumbaa to tell their legend. While guests might recognize some parts of the show from other Lion King performances, the creative team at Disneyland Paris give it their own unique twist with original costumes and routines.
The following songs will be performed:
- The Circle of Life
- I Just Can’t Wait To Be King
- Be Prepared
- Hakuna Matata
- Shadowland
- Can You Feel the Love Tonight
- He Lives in You
- Endless Night
- Busa / King of Pride Rock
As part of Disneyland Paris’s strong commitment to accessibility that enables all guests to enjoy their time at the resort regardless of abilities, songs from “The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands” show will be performed in chansigne every weekend. Chansigne is a form of expression in which gestures are intricately choreographed movements meant to convey the spirit of the song being interpreted, not simply its lyrics. It has been described as “dancing with your hands.”
The Jungle Book Jive
Performed several times a day along the parade route and on Central Plaza is The Jungle Book Jive. The Jungle Book Jive allows you to celebrate The Jungle Book. Baloo, King Louie, Mickey and Friends are accompanied by artists from India. This new show allows guests to dance along the sounds of songs such as “The Bare Necessities” and “I Wanna Be Like You” and a rousing new version of “Trust in Me” from Kaa the Snake.
While the show takes place along the parade route, Central Plaza features four stages on which you can find Mickey and Friends dancing along the music. Make sure you watch it several times to really experience it all.
Timon “MataDance”
Right in the heart of Adventureland near Pirate’s beach, Timon and Pumba make their own special appearance. Together with dancers they will have ask guests to join them to dance along with Timon’s “MataDance!”.
Djembe Joy Village
The Djembe Joy Village near the new Frontierland Theater will offer guests an immersive and interactive experience devoted to the Jungle Book and the Lion King. Inspired by Africa, this traditional village is open to guests every day until 2 pm giving the guests the experience musical encounters and a chance to interact with King Louie. The “Djembe Academy” introduces guests to a traditional instrument known as the djembe.
Special Lunch at Hakuna Matata Restaurant
Daily from 11am until 3pm, the Hakuna Matata Restaurant offers an African-inspired menu: yassa sauce chicken, broken rice, plantain bananas, beef balls, sautéed shrimp, raw vegetable salad and sweet and sour peanuts. A vegan alternative and a special menu for the young cubs will also be available. For dessert, a Simba ice cream cone with exotic fruits!
During this meal, guests will have the opportunity to meet the Rafiki and Mickey, in an explorer’s outfit designed exclusively for this experience. It is recommended to book your table in advance: +33 1 60 30 40 50.
Themed Snacks
During the festival, guests can also enjoy various themed snacks. We had the opportunity to try some of them during a special event a few months ago, and you won’t be disappointed!
Special Milkshakes at Victoria’s
At the last few events we have seen various special milkshakes at Victoria’s and the Lion King and Jungle Festival is not exception. Head over to Victoria’s to taste one of these amazing looking milkshakes. Do make sure you keep an eye on the opening hours!
Special Merchandise
Throughout the resort new merchandise for The Lion King and Jungle Festival can be found. The Curious Giraffe in Adventureland features the biggest selection. A new store called Savannah Souvenirs is open at the Djembe Joy Village. There are also special products linked to the “The Lion King: Rhythms of the Pride Lands” show, and fashion and lifestyle items focused on the iconic Simba. A small selection of the merchandise can be seen below. We took these pictures during a special event we attended a few months ago.
